A wedding shot list is a simple list of photos you definitely would like the photographer to get. This is especially beneficial for a documentary style or candid photographer like me. It could be a must-have family photo that grandma requested, or it could be that your 12 year family dog has to make an appearance. It is also beneficial in another way - Let's say Aunty Janice and Uncle Kevin don't get along - letting your photographer know has some advantages here.

Short answer is - Yes! If your photographer is unable to cover your wedding for whatever reason, generally they will assign you to a good backup photographer. But if you are indeed in a pickle, just get in touch and I can see what I can do. You never know, I may have blocked a Saturday to learn baking - I'd rather change my plans to happily capture your wedding rather than stare at a cake that looks like a tortilla! It is like they say, if you don't ask, you don't get!

Depending on the booking, I can travel as far as you need me to. If you are planning on a destination wedding - count me in. If your event is in the museum over in Edinburgh Castle - I am there. As the name suggests, it is a way of "documenting" the event / day as it unfolds. Meaning, as a photographer, rather than getting involved in the moment by posing people or directing them, I would capture natural expressions and emotions without intrusion. Although, staged shots have their place and I do tend to use them when the situation calls for it, I prefer the candid approach as they make the viewer feel the emotions conveyed in the image.

Engagement shoot is a great way for me to meet you two and get a feel for your chemistry and understand who you are as a couple. It helps me capture your love and your story through images. It is also a great opportunity to have some images taken without the stress and pressure of a wedding day. Is it beneficial? - Yes. Because often couples use the photos from the engagement shoot as a cover page for the guest book, or have a framed copy in front of the seating chart. My wife and I are such huge fans of Lego that I staged a Lego engagement photoshoot and used the images from that for our invitations! So, endless possibilities there.
